Just pictures

Getting a backlog of pictures, so here's a few from March, April and this month. I'll gradually get them all posted; or maybe not. Most of the backlog has been posted on my website, but I'll try and catch up with them on here too.

Here's 3 from March

Snowdrops. One of the heralds of spring.

Something else associated with spring, is the lambing season.

Didn't expect snow with it though.

Neither did this chap

Yellowhammer, wondering where all this white stuff has come from.

At least April fared better, and with it came one of my first butterfly sightings of the year.

Small Tortoiseshell

A close up of concentration.

Grey Heron

Next one I was very pleased with; I haven't many pictures of this bird that I'm happy with.

Whinchat

Whitethroat

And I'll end with three from this month.

A couple of spring lambs, without the snow this time.

One of those very lucky shots

Little Egret, playing with his dinner

and since I started with flowers, I'll finish with flowers

Tulips, not from Amsterdam, but from Milton Keynes

Enjoy your day

  1. Your photos are sheer magic. I'm sure I've said that before but it still holds true. Those twin lambs with the light bringing out the pink of their ears, the delicacy of the snowdrops, the drama of the tulips, catching a good shot of a tiny, very mobile bird, snow at lambing time and to top it all that early butterfly and the heron turning his catch to fit down its throat. It is always a joy to see your blog and what you have been up to.

  11. A fantastic set of images Keith. The yellowhammer in the snow is brilliant as is the Whinchat and Whitethroat. Though oddly one my favourites is the sheep with the lamb on the hill, I like the composition of the image. Well done on them all.
